Este martes se cumplen 86 años del nacimiento del legendario centrocampista del Dynamo de Moscú Valery Maslov.
Dynamo invited Maslov in 1961, when he had already earned a reputation as a versatile player, distinguished by his hard work and inexhaustible energy on the field. He scored a goal in his very first match for the white-and-blues, and in 11 years, he scored 54 times in 351 matches (the fifth-highest total in the club's history).
With the team, Valery Pavlovich won the USSR championship (in 1963), three silver medals, two USSR Cups (in 1967 and 1970), and was named among the 33 best players of the season in the USSR six times.
In bandy, Maslov achieved no less impressive results: 10 national championships with Dynamo, three European Cup victories, and eight World Championships. Valery Pavlovich was the only captain in history of the USSR national football and bandy teams.
